With time on my hands (fingers) I have recently returned to rewriting/reinventing a short story I gave up on more than a decade ago. The base narrative is derived from a real life experience circa 1987. As I construct the tale and revisit the root event source I am struck by how different the world was then without wireless communication technology. There is no way what I experienced then and what I am trying now to recapture in short-form fiction could/would (darn subjunctive) make sense in contemporary CellPhoneWorld. Looking back I see another planet. Not sure effort is worth to pursue...
